Slate River Ranch has assembled some of the strongest mares in the cutting industry that currently represent more than $1.5 million in combined earnings, including top performers Playin N Fancy Smart, Bobs Smart Chance, Peptos Stylish Miss, Play Miss, Playin N Fancy Peppy and Sarahs Super Cat. Glade Knight is dedicated to improving genetics through breeding of these top-performing mares and has seen great success in the ranch foals since the Ranch’s inception. Currently, the ranch has in training offspring by the prestigious stallions High Brow Cat, Smooth As A Cat, Lenas Jewel Bars and Peptotime.

At the 2009 NCHA Futurity, Slate River Ranch mares’ offspring finished well. Boon Smart Chance from Bobs Smart Chance and by Mr. Booonsmal To You was an open semifinalist with rider John Mitchell. Playgirls Jewel from Aristocrats Playgirl and by Lenas Jewel Bars was a non-pro semifinalist with rider Nelson Knight. Sarenadual from Sarenalena by Dual Pep was the high score in amateur go round and was an amateur finalist. Freckles and Braces from Squirrel Tooth Alice and by Playdox was a semifinalist in the non-pro limited division. Bit Of Pepto from Meradas Bitsy and by Peptoboonsmal was a non-pro semifinalist.

In 2010, Slate River intends to breed their top performing mares to some of the best stallions in the industry, including Smart Little Lena, High Brow Cat, Peptoboonsmal and Dual Rey along with the ranch’s own That Sly Cat & Mr Boonsmal To You.
